Stone Office Administrator
Location: Basingstoke
Salary: £21,138 per year
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Holidays: 20 days (rising to 25 after 5 years), plus bank holidays
This family run Funeral Directors based in Basingstoke for over 60 years, has built an excellent reputation, and works tirelessly to help the families who require their services. They are seeking a highly organised Stone Office Administrator to join their supportive team. This role is ideal for an experienced administrator who takes pride in owning a project from start to finish, thrives on attention to detail, and approaches their work with empathy and care.
The role of Stone Office Administrator
This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will manage memorial projects from first enquiry through to completion, supporting families during an emotionally difficult time with compassion and professionalism.
Duties include:
- Talking to clients to establish their requirements and guiding them as to what is acceptable in each churchyard or cemetery
- Organising for a member of the team to visit graves to assess headstones in situ
- Sending out quotes for headstones and organising drawings
- Filling in all necessary legal paperwork
- Checking inscriptions for accuracy
- Being the first port of call for any enquiry regarding stonework
- Ordering stones from the suppliers and tracking their delivery to us
- Keeping an up-to-date stock check and producing an accurate stock figure for the
accountants every three months
- Making sure headstones are removed by the team, on time, for a burial to take place
- Invoicing once project is completed
- Following a project from start to finish knowing exactly what is happening with that stone at any one time.
The successful candidate must have:
- A good telephone manner with the ability to interact easily.
- Excellent organisational skills
- Pay close attention to detail
- Be a team player but be able to take control in a professional manner
- Multi-tasking ability
- The ability to follow a project from start to finish and understand the importance of keeping the family informed and keeping a project on track
